하나님 나라 중심의 리더십
내가 기독교 동화 작가들의 모임에 참여하여 서로를 위해 기도해주고 서로의 책에 대한 홍보를 도와주는 일을 하자, 어떤 사람들은 우리가 “경쟁자들과 함께 일하는 어리석은 짓을” 하고 있다고 말했습니다. 하지만 우리는 하나님 나라 중심의 리더십으로 공동체를 부흥시키기 위해 모인 것이지 경쟁하기 위한 것은 아니었습니다. 우리는 복음전파라는 같은 목표를 가지고 있으며, 예수님이라는 같은 왕을 섬겼습니다. 우리는 함께 더 많은 사람들에게 다가가 그리스도를 증거하고 있습니다.
하나님이 모세에게 지도자 경험이 있는 장로 70명을 선택하라고 명하시고 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “네게 임한 영을 그들에게도 임하게 하리니 그들이 너와 함께 백성의 짐을 담당하고 너 혼자 담당하지 아니하리라” (민수기 11:16-17). 나중에 여호수아가 두 장로가 예언하는 것을 보고 모세에게 그들을 중지시키라고 말했을 때 모세는 이렇게 말했습니다. “네가 나를 두고 시기하느냐 여호와께서 그의 영을 그의 모든 백성에게 주사 다 선지자가 되게 하시기를 원하노라”(29절).
다른 사람들과 함께 일하는 데 방해가 되는 경쟁이나 비교에 얽매일 때마다 그런 유혹을 떨쳐낼 수 있도록 성령께서 우리에게 힘을 주실 수 있습니다. 우리 안에 하나님 나라 중심의 리더십을 갖게 해 달라고 간구할 때, 하나님은 전 세계에 복음을 전파하시고 우리가 그분을 함께 섬김으로 우리 의 짐을 더욱 가볍게 해 주실 수 있습니다.

성령님, 생명을 구하는 복음의 메시지를 더 많은 사람들에게 전하기 위해 힘을 합쳐 헌신하는 하나님 나라 중심의 리더가 되게 해주소서.

KINGDOM-MINDED LEADERSHIP
When I joined a group of Christian children’s book authors who prayed for one another and helped spread the word about each other’s books, some people said we were “foolish for working with competitors.” But our group was committed to kingdom-minded leadership and promoting community, not competition. We shared the same goal—spreading the gospel. We served the same King—Jesus. Together, we’re reaching more people with our witness for Christ.
When God asked Moses to choose seventy elders with leader- ship experience, He said, “I will take some of the power of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them. They will share the bur- den of the people with you so that you will not have to carry it alone” (NUMBERS 11:16–17). Later, Joshua saw two of the elders prophesying and told Moses to stop them. Moses said, “Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the Lord’s people were proph-
ets and that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!” (V. 29).
Any time we focus on competition or comparisons that hinder us from working with others, the Holy Spirit can empower us to shrug off that temptation. When we ask God to nurture kingdom- minded leadership in us, He spreads the gospel around the world and can even lighten our loads as we serve Him together. - XOCHITL DIXON
